Magnet Section


We have developed the following programmes for electromagnetic analysis and measurement.

  • Particle Raytracing Programmes:
    • TRACK - 3D tracking through `real' magnetic and/or electric fields
    • HEDGE - 3D tracking through 'hard-edged' magnetic elements
  • Shimming:
    • OPTIMA - pole shimming optimisation (together with POISSON)
  • Plotting, Analysis and Utilities:
    • INTEGRATE - 'hard edge element' fit
    • DAVIS - contour plots
    • PROFIL - line plots
    • SMODAT - 2D data smoothing
    • COPYDAT - 2D data file handling
    • MAPCONV - 2D<~>3D data file conversion
    • ERREGER - excitation characteristics (linear fit)
    • KUBIK - excitation characteristics (cubic fit)
    • DRUCK - waterflow characteristics (logarithmic fit)
    • DRAWCCS - general drawing, TOSCA/POISSON pre-processor

Download the utility programmes for reading the MAP files ( read.f | lib.f )
that are used for archiving measured or calculated magnetic (or electric) fields in the cartesian coordinate system.
